Tax Advantaged Accounts
HSA and FSA plans can save you money with pre-tax contributions that you can use to pay for medical and childcare expenses. Are you saving for retirement? Schwab Retirement Plan Services is here to help you set up pre-tax and/or Roth contributions as you save for retirement! Read the information below to understand how these plans work and how you can participate.
FSA Medical
- Set aside pre-tax dollars to cover qualified expenses you would normally pay for out of your pocket with post-tax dollars. Your annual election is deposited on a debit card and you can use the card to pay for out of pocket healthcare costs at the time you incur them. The FSA has a maximum roll over amount from year to year, so be careful when you make your annual election each year.
FSA Childcare
- Set aside pre-tax dollars to cover qualified childcare expenses while both parents work. This offsets the Federal Childcare credit. After you incur the expense, you can submit claims for reimbursement.
HSA
- Set aside pre-tax dollars to cover qualified medical expenses you would normally pay for out of pocket with post tax dollars. The HSA allows for all the $$ in your plan to roll over from year to year. The Plan features a Debit Card that you use to pay for services at the time you incur them. An HSA is a great savings tools to help with paying for out of pocket healthcare expenses.
